Study.com is looking for English Subject Reviewers to ensure our content is of the highest quality. Our ideal Reviewer is familiar with copyediting educational content, evaluating others' work, and providing collaborative guidance and feedback.

This is an online, remote contract role. 

Project Description

The English Subject Reviewer at Study.com is responsible for critically evaluating and refining our English educational content to ensure its accuracy, relevance, and educational value. Key responsibilities include reviewing and assessing English topics, ensuring content clarity, and providing actionable feedback for content enhancement. The role demands expertise in English language arts, analytical acumen, and effective communication skills.

Project Work

As an English Subject Reviewer with Study.com, you will be:
  • Evaluating a Variety of English Topics: Selecting from a broad range of English topics to ensure our content covers all necessary areas within the subject.
  • Analyzing Learning Materials: Conducting in-depth reviews of learning materials, including topic pages, topic names, and lesson titles to guarantee that they accurately represent the subject matter.
  • Assessing Instructional Quality: Critically assessing the instructional design of the content to ensure it is pedagogically sound and effectively supports learning outcomes.
  • Ensuring Level-Appropriateness: Making sure that the content is suitable for high school or lower-division undergraduate students and aligns with their learning needs.
  • Providing Constructive Feedback: Offering clear, actionable feedback to help refine and enhance the educational content.
  • Collaborating with Our Team: Working alongside an in-house team of educational experts to maintain the high standard of Study.com's educational offerings.

Required Education & Experience
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in English, literature, education or a related field.
  • English teaching experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and are collaborative and responsive.
Preferred Skills
  • At least 3 years of English teaching experience
  • Familiarity with curriculum and pedagogical standards in English language arts (grammar, writing, speaking)
  • Proficiency in content editing and proofreading
  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and/or Smartsheets.
