YouTube Educational Video Creator - ASVAB (Contract)

Are you current or former U.S. military member with knowledge to share? Do you want to help aspiring U.S. military applicants who are studying for their ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery)? Join Study.com's YouTube team and create fun, engaging videos on topics you choose! 

We are looking for someone with an engaging on-screen presence to create bite-size videos about all aspects of ASVAB prep. You will be provided with a video outline or script and create videos that provide tips and strategies to help military applicants to succeed on their exam.

This is an on-screen creator role. It's a remote, contract role with opportunities to create many videos over the next 6 months.


Candidates must have teaching experience and submit a sample video in order to be considered for this project. Candidates who do not submit a sample video will not be considered.

As an Educational Video Creator, you’ll be:
  • Choosing the topic of your video from a large list of options
  • Creating engaging, step-by-step videos teaching students how to understand & solve sample test problems (digital whiteboard style)
  • Creating scripted videos that are natural and relatable
  • Showcasing your experience as a qualified teacher by sharing the tips that worked for you

What we’re looking for:
  • Military experience – We are looking for people with first-hand experience in the U.S. military, including the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, or Coast Guard
  • Teaching experience - We want instructors who can help students in as many areas of the ASVAB as possible, including general science, arithmetic reasoning, paragraph comprehension, mathematics knowledge, electronics information, auto information, shop information, mechanical comprehension, and assembling objects
  • Fluent English writing and reading skills
  • Engaging on-screen presence
  • Equipment for creating instructional videos for virtual learning:
    • An external microphone or headphones with a microphone
    • High quality webcam or smartphone
    • A stylus or tablet for writing on-screen

Create a short video where you introduce yourself and explain how to solve a simple problem. Your explanation should be aimed at prospective military applicants. Paste the link to your video here. We will only consider applicants who submit a sample video and will use this video to get a better sense of your audio and visual setup and your teaching style.

VIDEO REQUIREMENTS:
-No longer than 1 minute
-You must be on screen for part of the video
-Your digital whiteboard must be on screen for part of the video
-Handwriting must be clear and legible
-Writing should be done in a digital program like OneNote or Whiteboard (not written on paper or on an actual whiteboard)

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-Use the BEST AUDIO POSSIBLE, (we recommend a microphones that is external or part of your headphones, NOT a laptop microphone)
-Use a tablet or stylus - DO NOT use a mouse to write. Your application will be rejected.
