YouTube Video Creation - ASVAB Test Prep (Contract)

Study.com is a leader in online education, and we strive to help people interested in enlisting in the military prepare for and pass the ASVAB. We are creating YouTube videos to offer test strategies, content review, and test info. We’re looking for current or former military members who have experience with the ASVAB and subject matter expertise in one or more fields.

This is an online, remote, contract role.

Project Description

As a dedicated and knowledgeable member of the military, you'll leverage your expertise to produce high-quality content aimed at helping individuals prepare for the ASVAB military exam.

Our channel focuses on providing comprehensive, engaging, and informative videos that cover all facets of the ASVAB as well as effective testing strategies using practice problems.

You will engage viewers to deliver clear, helpful information and ensure complex topics are accurate, relevant, and easily understandable to viewers of all levels.

The ideal candidate will be a current or former member of any branch of the military who has a deep understanding of the ASVAB and a knack for clear and engaging communication. This role involves creating videos that are less than 10 minutes long, with no video editing required.

  • Create engaging and informative YouTube videos focused on ASVAB exam prep
  • Present information in a clear, concise, and engaging manner
  • Ensure all content is accurate, current, and relevant to the ASVAB
  • Maintain a consistent and professional on-screen presence

How to Apply:

  1. Complete the application, including all required candidate questions.
  2. Upload or provide a link to your resume.
  3. Provide a file or link to a sample video featuring you providing instruction on any subject, such as solving a math problem or tips for diagnosing a computer problem. The sample video should be under 2 minutes and requires no special video editing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Background: Current or former member of any branch of the military
  • Experience: Passed the ASVAB
  • Expertise: Subject matter expertise in at least one area (math, electronics, science, etc.)
  • Skills: Create high quality videos (no video editing skills/software required)
  • Equipment: Microphone, camera, and tablet/stylus
  • Competencies:
    • Ability to explain complex concepts in simple and engaging manner
    • Strong understanding of ASVAB and test prep
    • Ability to work independently (this is a remote contract role)
    • Comfortable and confident on camera
  • Communication: Responds professionally to feedback in a timely manner

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree in subject relevant to ASVAB concepts
  • Experience writing or reading scripts for video production
  • Previous experience creating educational video content

We will only consider applicants who submit a sample video and will use this video to get a better sense of your audio and visual setup and your teaching style.

VIDEO REQUIREMENTS:
-No longer than 1 minute
-You must be on screen for at least part of the video
-Your digital whiteboard must be on screen for part of the video
-Handwriting must be clear and legible
-Writing should be done in a digital program like OneNote or Whiteboard (not written on paper or on an actual whiteboard)

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-Use the BEST AUDIO POSSIBLE, (we recommend a microphones that is external or part of your headphones, NOT a laptop microphone)
-Use a tablet or stylus - DO NOT use a mouse to write. Your application will be rejected.
